Matthew is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Human Factors and Systems Science (CHFSS) and is currently working on projects with the US Navy and Understanding and Preventing Led Outdoor Accidents Data System (UPLOADS).
Previously, Matthew’s work at CHFSS was on projects related to high-risk recidivist traffic offending, optimising international doping control systems, and performing a systemic risk assessment of inadvertent doping through supplement use. Additional research areas of interest include measuring and optimising human performance, sleep, and basketball.
Matthew has a background in exercise and sport science and completed his PhD titled ‘Examining the Interplay of Sleep, Exercise, and Nutrition’ at Australian Catholic University in 2024.
In addition to his research, Matthew has taught undergraduate exercise and sport science courses, postgraduate high-performance sport courses, and has been involved with professional basketball.
