Rachel Harris is currently the Collection and Registration Officer at the UniSC Art Gallery. Rachel completed a Master of Art Curatorship from the University of Melbourne in 2021, which included an internship at the UniSC Art Gallery.
Since that internship, Rachel has engaged with the Gallery, initially facilitating the research of Asian objects in the UniSC Art Collection. In 2022 Rachel co-curated the exhibition An Acquisitive Instinct and co-authored the catalogue essay, the research for which was based on her thesis titled “What role did Richard W.L. Austin, AO, OBE play in the Queensland Art Gallery’s and University of the Sunshine Coast Art Gallery’s engagement with Asian art?”
Rachel has been connected with Asia, particularly China, for many years.
