Tips for safety awareness
- Stay alert, avoid risky situations, and trust your intuition
- Report suspicious behavior and carry your UniSC ID
- Avoid isolated areas at night—walk with a friend or a SafeUniSC Officer
- Carry a personal alarm or use SafeZone if threatened
- Play it safe when socializing to avoid vulnerability
Protecting your property
- Keep personal belongings with you; don’t leave items unattended
- Lost items are taken to the Library Loans Desk (Level 1)
Public transport safety
- Stick to well-lit, busy areas and avoid long waits alone
- For taxis, call 131 008, sit in the back, and don’t share personal details
Car safety
- Park in well-lit areas and lock your vehicle
- Have keys ready and check your car before entering
- Lock doors and windows immediately after entering
Communication tools
- Always carry change, a phone card, or a mobile phone
- Add emergency numbers like 000 or SafeUniSC (5430 1168) into your phone
- When using a public telephone face outward while speaking to stay aware of your surroundings
