UniSC Open Day is more than just a campus visit – it’s a chance for your child to picture themselves at university, explore their study options, and start shaping their future. Whether they’re still deciding what to study or ready to apply, attending Open Day with them can make a big difference.
With Open Days coming up at UniSC’s Moreton Bay campus on Sunday 20 July and Sunshine Coast campus on Sunday 3 August, here’s how you and your child can make the most of the experience.
Register to attend
Before your child registers for UniSC Open Day, encourage them to think about what they’re interested in studying. During registration, they’ll be asked to select their areas of interest, and this helps create a personalised Open Day plan just for them, tailored to where they’re at on their journey to university.
Review your personalised plan
In the lead-up to Open Day, your child will receive their customised plan straight to their inbox. Take a moment to review it together so you both know what sessions are on, where to go, and when. You’ll also receive a campus map on the day to help you find your way around.
It’s a great idea for your child to come prepared with a few questions for academics and staff – whether it’s about course content, support services or what life at uni is really like.
Join the information sessions
Tailored information sessions are available for students in Year 10 and 11, Year 12, and those returning to study. These sessions are packed with advice on applying through QTAC, scholarships, early offers and more. There are also sessions for each study area, giving your child the chance to hear directly from academic staff and discover more about course content, career outcomes and pathways into uni.
Get hands-on in workshops and demos
One of the highlights of UniSC’s Open Day is the chance to participate in hands-on activities. From science experiments to creative workshops and paramedicine simulations, these experiences give your child a real taste of what uni life looks like in action.

Tour the campus
Encourage your child to join a campus tour and join them if you can. It’s a great way to get a feel for the learning spaces, labs, sports facilities, library and social areas they’ll be spending time in. Feeling comfortable and confident on campus can help ease those first-day nerves.
Drop into The Hub
At the heart of Open Day is The Hub, where you’ll find friendly UniSC staff from each study area, admissions, student support and more. Whether your child has questions about entry requirements, flexible study options or student support, this is the place to get clear answers tailored to their needs.

Reflect and regroup
After the day, take a moment to talk with your child about what stood out. What excited them? What questions do they still have? Reflecting on their experience will help them feel more confident and informed as they take the next step toward uni.
Attending Open Day with your child is a meaningful way to support their journey and it’s a great opportunity to learn alongside them. We look forward to welcoming you both to UniSC.
