Sheldon Indigenous Engineering Bursary

Scholarship applications are now open and will close on 30 November 2025.

All applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by 27 February 2026.

The Sheldon Indigenous Engineering Bursary shall be awarded to one Indigenous Engineering student enrolled at UniSC Moreton Bay.

The Sheldon Indigenous Engineering Bursary aims to support Indigenous Engineering students enrolled at UniSC Moreton Bay Campus and provides financial assistance to offset the costs associated with tertiary study that can have a significant impact on a student’s ability to further their education.

One scholarship per year valued at $2,500 will be offered and paid as a $2,500 lump sum payment after the Census Date in Study Period 1. Scholarship payment will be made approximately three weeks after Census Date, once enrolment has been confirmed.

Please Note:  This scholarship is offered on a yearly basis through funds provided by an external donor. If funding is not available in any given year, the scholarship will not be awarded.

 

Eligibility
  • Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student
  • enrolled in any Bachelor of Engineering program at UniSC Moreton Bay Campus
  • full-time or part-time continuing student having successfully completed a minimum of 48 units (4 courses)
  • minimum grade point average (GPA) of 4.0
  • Australian Citizen
Selection criteria
  • financial need
  • hours worked in paid employment or commitment to activities that impact on the time available to the student to study (for example: compulsory fieldwork, significant carer responsibilities) and other equity considerations
